In the cutting operation of reinforced concrete, line speed is the core parameter that affects cutting efficiency, wire saw life, and energy consumption. Low line speed can lead to slow cutting and increased bead wear; If the line speed is too high, it is easy to cause the bead surface to be "polished", the wire saw to jump, and even the wire to break. The synergistic advantage of linear speed and automatic control

 

Linear speed is not an independent variable, it is coupled with the tension of the wire saw and the current of the main motor. SKYSTONE wire saw machine is controlled in a bidirectional closed-loop manner through PLC and frequency converter:

  • After the operator sets the target line speed, maximum allowable tension, and upper limit of cutting current on the touch screen, the system automatically adjusts the feed speed and motor speed to maintain the line speed near the set value.
  • When the steel bars in the concrete are densely packed or the hardness suddenly changes, causing a rapid increase in current, the system automatically reduces the feed rate to stabilize the line speed and prevent the wiresaw from overloading or jamming; When the load is reduced, the feed rate is automatically increased to maintain cutting efficiency.
  • This control method avoids the instability caused by frequent manual adjustment of line speed based on experience, making the cutting process smoother and also helping to extend the life of the wire.

0-40 m/s wide line speed range, suitable for different working conditions

 

The line speed of SKYSTONE wire saw machine can be continuously adjusted within the range of 0-40 m/s. In addition to being suitable for ordinary reinforced concrete, it can also be flexibly adjusted when facing the following working conditions:

  • High strength concrete or dense steel bars
  • Plain concrete or low-grade concrete.
  • Underwater cutting or narrow spaces.

 The device supports smooth start-up from 0 speed, automatically soft cutting at a lower linear speed when the wire saw first comes into contact with concrete, and gradually increasing to the target speed after the bead is stably ground, reducing initial impact and polishing risks.

Permanent magnet motor: energy-saving and fast response

 

The main motor adopts a permanent magnet  motor, which has a higher energy efficiency level than traditional asynchronous motors. It can maintain high efficiency within a wide range of linear speeds, with a measured increase of about 30% in efficiency compared to asynchronous motors, and a decrease of about 10% in overall energy consumption.

 The system automatically saves the line speed change curve, current, and tension data during each cutting process, making it easier for operators to analyze the cutting effect under different parameters afterwards and gradually optimize the process parameters of the construction site.

 

Security and Exception Protection

 

The system is configured with detection and shutdown protection for common abnormalities such as wire saw jamming, overload, wire breakage, and motor overheating in concrete cutting. Automatic deceleration alarm when the line speed exceeds the set upper limit due to reasons; Both the movement and rotation of the power head are equipped with limited position protection to prevent sudden speed changes caused by mechanical collisions.
